Part-time Employment Description

19 Hours per week, Monday – Friday
Hourly Rate: $18.29

            The employee shall perform administrative tasks as directed by the Police Chief such as, but not limited to:
            Telephone and Interior Reception
            Data and Word Processing, Correspondence
            Filing and Record Retrieval
            Billing and Payroll
Basic Book Keeping 
Various clerical tasks related to the delivery of public safety services.

Generally, hours of employment shall be Monday – Thursday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon. 


            Prior administrative or secretarial experience, good interpersonal and customer service skills, familiarity with computer operating programs (mainly Microsoft), general filing, book keeping and billing practices.

Town of Warren, RI – Probationary Patrol Officer

The Warren Police Department is seeking qualified applicants to establish an eligibility list for the position of Probationary Patrol Officer.  The Department consists of twenty-four (24) sworn officers, five (5) civilian dispatchers and a part time civilian administrative assistant.

Applications and Minimum Eligibility Qualifications are available on the Town of Warren’s website,, Warren Police Department’s website, and at the Warren Town Clerk’s Office located at 514 Main Street, Warren, RI 02885.  Applications must be submitted with a $30.00 non-refundable processing fee.  Completed Applications must be received in the Town Clerk’s Office, no later than March 25th, 2019 @ 12:00 PM.

Minimum Eligibility Qualifications:

                              *    Must be a citizen of the United States.
                              *    Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of the application.
                              *    Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s (driver’s) license.
                              *    Must successfully pass a written examination, physical agility test (including a swimming test),

                                    psychological test & medical screening.
                              *    Must have a minimum of sixty (60) college credit hours at an accredited College or University by the    

                                    application deadline.  In lieu of college credits, candidates may substitute two (2) years of honorable U.S.
                                    Military service (to include National Guard & Reserve), or satisfactory or valid
                                    Rhode Island certification as a municipal police officer or any other standardized law enforcement                                                                                   certificate held in good standing.
